Retail & E-Commerce
The promise and the warehouse disagree.
Retail technology usually fails in the gaps rather than the platforms — between the website and the store, the warehouse and the delivery promise. Each system is individually fine and collectively wrong.

Four corners of the retail sector
The retail sector is not one market. These are the areas we work in most, each with its own systems, regulators and pressures.
E-Commerce & DTC
Storefronts, checkout, subscription and loyalty for direct-to-consumer brands.
Omnichannel Retail
Click-and-collect, ship-from-store and unified inventory across channels.
Wholesale & Distribution
B2B ordering portals, pricing rules and trade account management.
Grocery & Convenience
Fulfilment routing, substitution logic and perishable stock management.

The problems that actually come up.
Recurring issues in retail, and what we do about each one.
Stock that is accurate nowhere
A single inventory view across warehouse, stores and channels, so availability shown online reflects what can actually be picked.
Personalisation that feels generic
Recommendation and segmentation models trained on your own behavioural data rather than off-the-shelf rules.
Forecasting by spreadsheet
Demand models that account for seasonality, promotions and lead times, feeding directly into replenishment.
Orders that break at the handoff
Order management that routes, splits and tracks fulfilment across locations and carriers without manual intervention.
Fix the connective systems, keep the storefront.
Most of what gets blamed on the e-commerce platform actually sits around it. We would rather fix inventory, order management and data flow, and leave a storefront that works alone.

Frequently asked questions.
What clients in retail usually want to know before starting.
1. Do we need to replace our e-commerce platform?
Usually not. Most of the problems we are asked about — stock accuracy, order routing, personalisation — sit in the systems around the storefront rather than in the storefront itself. We would rather fix those and leave a platform that works alone.
2. How much customer data is needed for personalisation?
Enough behavioural history to find patterns, which in practice means a few months of traffic at reasonable volume. Below that, rule-based merchandising performs about as well and costs far less, so we would start there.
3. Can you unify inventory across stores and warehouses?
Yes, and it is usually the highest-value piece of work in retail. The hard part is rarely technical — it is agreeing what “available” means when stock is on a shop floor, in transit, or reserved. We work that definition through with operations before building.
4. Do you integrate with Shopify, Magento or Dynamics?
Yes, all three, plus custom storefronts. The integration approach depends on what the platform exposes and how much logic needs to live outside it, which we assess up front.
5. How long before we see results?
Inventory and order management improvements tend to show within a quarter of go-live because they remove manual work immediately. Forecasting and personalisation take longer — those need a full seasonal cycle before the gain is measurable with confidence.
